Nissan's Armada has evolved over many generations, but the 2025 model feels like an entirely new beginning. The next-gen Armada showcases its distinctive style while adapting to modern demands, with a focus on setting standards for the future. While the updated design is undeniably eye-catching, Nissan has also worked to enhance the Armada's off-road capabilities through both physical upgrades and the latest technology.
Behind the Design of the 2025 Armada
Ken Lee, Nissan's senior design director, shared insights on the new Armada’s design. For him, the design language resonates broadly. "The fender forms have a lot of fluidity, and the body reflects a well-controlled aesthetic." The Armada’s new front fascia speaks to technical precision for the designers, while for fans, the look inspires a sense of excitement and connection.
Though the model’s design feels refreshingly new, Nissan paid homage to previous Armada generations by incorporating familiar elements. Past models were chrome-heavy, but Lee notes that lighting now takes center stage, particularly with the detailed LED headlamp design. “Lighting is, in many ways, the new chrome,” he says.
Trims like the PRO-4X highlight the Armada's adventurous spirit. With a more muscular design, the PRO-4X is the lineup’s dedicated off-roader, featuring three-dimensional seating and rugged accents. It’s crafted for those eager to take the road less traveled.
Inside, each trim incorporates fresh design elements for a dynamic experience. Inspired by the Japanese concept of "Ma," or "mastery of space," the designers treated every row as a valued space, ensuring each seat feels purposefully arranged. Additionally, owners can find small nods to the Armada’s heritage, like the "Since 1951" badge.
