2020 Nissan Frontier

What's New For the 2020 Nissan Frontier?

In 2020, the Nissan Frontier gets some updates and changes to its mechanical system. It also receives some aesthetic changes with the inclusion of an updated center console in the front row. Now, the Nissan Frontier has the same engine across the board. All trims are driven by a V6 engine that delivers over 300 HP.

This engine provides more power than the Frontier's previous engines, giving even the base trim more power and performance capabilities than in the past. Along with the new engine comes a new standard transmission for the 2020 Frontier, which is a nine-speed automatic. The Frontier gets a refreshed console design that includes a new transmission shifter. Push-button start is now a standard feature on the Frontier.

Along with aesthetic and mechanical changes, Nissan also shortened the Frontier lineup this year by eliminating the SL trim. While Nissan introduced some minor changes to this year's Frontier, it is planning a major design change for the Frontier in the 2021 model year. Those wanting more power will be more than satisfied with the 2020 model in the meantime.

The 2020 Frontier Is Impressive No Matter Which Trim You Choose

The 2020 Nissan Frontier is available in four trim levels. The lineup starts with the S. The S is equipped with a generous array of features that includes a seven-inch infotainment console with Bluetooth. The infotainment system is voice-activated for convenience and safety. You have the choice between four and six speakers with the sound system. A CD player is standard, as is an auxiliary audio jack. A USB charging port enables charging on the go.

Cloth seats with a bucket-style design are standard in the S. You can equip the S with a special Work Truck package featuring a spray-in bedliner, rubber floor mats, and splash guards. The SV gets larger 16-inch wheels. Satellite radio enhances its audio system, and it also gets a sliding rear window. You can add on several optional features including a sunroof, rear parking sensors, fog lights, and a spray-in bedliner.

The extended-length cab can also get a few more speakers, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. The Desert Runner gets more off-road-ready features and a unique appearance. Off-road tires are standard on this trim as well. The Pro-4X, which is the top trim this year, gets its own set of off-road tires, along with skid plates and a locking rear differential. Its infotainment screen also includes navigation.
