What's New For the 2019 Nissan Murano?

With its head-turning good looks, impressive array of safety amenities, and cabin full of the latest tech features, it's safe to say that the 2019 Murano is back and better than ever. This year, one of the biggest differences you'll notice from previous models is the redesigned exterior, which shows that Nissan took a bold, rather than conservative, approach to styling its popular mid-size SUV. With a rounded hood, brighter lights, and modern styling cues, the Murano has a more commanding presence than before. But while it might at first glance look like it's all about shuttling passengers and showing off downtown, the Murano's performance capabilities assure you that this powerful SUV will get you through bad weather, rough roads, and over questionable driving surfaces with ease. With its sizable V engine, the Murano can hit 60 MPH from a standstill in less than eight seconds. A CVT transmission makes your rides in the Murano silky smooth.

The 2019 Nissan Murano High-Tech Features

Starting with the S, which is the base model, you have a lot to look forward to. The S features aluminum alloy wheels and power-operated doors and windows. The S comes standard with an eight-inch touchscreen that has wireless technology. You can choose to add other features, such as Android Auto, a head-up display, and Apple CarPlay for a more enhanced entertainment experience. The S also has variable intermittent wipers in the front and back, which comes in handy when you're trying to navigate through a rain storm. The SV builds on the S's features with a more luxurious interior that has a leather-encased shift knob. The SV's infotainment system features voice recognition and text messaging assistance for driving ease. Dual-zone AC makes warm weather rides more pleasant. A push-button start feature and three 12V power outlets are other highlights of this trim. There are also several available options, including front and back parking sensors and a panoramic camera. The SL builds on those amenities with leather seats and larger 20-inch wheels. With this trim level, you'll get a higher quality audio system made by Bose. A total of 11 speakers and two subwoofers delivers concert-quality sound at the touch of a button. The infotainment center gets an upgrade too with the addition of a navigation system that has real-time traffic alerts. The top-level Murano is called the Platinum. Its features include standard all-wheel drive, a power-operated moonroof, heated and cooled front seats, and leather seats that are ultra soft with the addition of quilted inserts. This trim level also has 20-inch wheels, but they're made of silver aluminum-alloy. Finally, you'll get more standard active safety features.

Built to Perform

The two base models come standard with front-wheel drive, while the others get all-wheel drive. An automatic transmission is standard across the board. Although a hybrid Murano has been available in the past, this year's Murano runs on standard gasoline.

Modern Safety Technology

2019 Nissan Murano Exterior RearYou can't always see an accident coming or stop in time to prevent one. Fortunately, the 2019 Murano covers your bases with the inclusion of more advanced safety technology. A suite of driver assist aids, including an available panoramic camera and parking sensors, act as a second driver. A number of passive safety aids, including a driver's knee airbag, front and side airbags, and roof airbags cushion the blow of an impact. The Murano's driver assist features include intelligent forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
