What's New For the 2019 Nissan Frontier?

The Frontier has been selling well for the most part despite the fact there hasn't been a major change for almost a decade. Some people refer to it as the "oldest "newest pickup on the road today. Even though some rivals might have a newer design, the Nissan Frontier still delivers when it matters most.

2019 Nissan Frontier Interior

2019 Nissan Frontier Has Abundant Features

The new Nissan Frontier is available in five trims which include S, SV, rear-drive-only Desert Runner, 4WD-only Pro-4X, and top-spec SL. The chassis and cab configuration will depend on the trim level. The base model is fairly priced which is one of the reasons why people have an affinity for the Nissan Frontier. The new 2019 Nissan Frontier has a new and almost familiar look. This year's Frontier almost looks identical to the previous years. It has a bulky exterior that features wide headlights, chunky fenders, and curved bumpers for better approach angles. The roof rack is easy on the eye if you're used to the previous versions.

Even though there are not a lot of aesthetic changes when it comes to the interior, you can expect to get durable working cabin material. The hard plastic that is consistent throughout the cabin can be seen as more than appropriate for trail riders and tradesmen. The switchgear is effective and is more the capable in providing straightforward operation. You get decent front-passenger space in the crew cab but shouldn't expect a lot of it in the rear seats. It comes standard with a 7.0 -inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming as an option in the higher trims. It features ample space, with the crew-cab being able to handle up to 10 carry-ons on the back seat.

2019 Frontier Power & Performance

2019 Nissan Frontier Exterior FrontThe new 2019 Nissan Frontier features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that can produce up to 152 -HP while pulling 171 pound-feet of torque. There is also an optional 4.0-liter V6 engine which outs 261-HP while pulling 281 pound-feet of torque. There is a standard five-speed manual transmission with a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission being an option. The V6 is responsive when it comes to handling and the automatic transmission is more than cable in delivering well-timed shifts. The new Frontier can tow to 6,720 pounds which is decent for a truck in its class.

When it comes to handling and braking, the Nissan Frontier provides a comfortable ride and is also easy to maneuver on sharp bends. The tiller is firm and precise and doesn't wander even when driving at highway speeds. The rear-wheel is standard in the basic model but you can always upgrade to four-wheel on the higher trims. Fuel economy is respectable as you can get 19 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway for the standard powertrain. The V6 engine can get you 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

Nissan Frontier Safety In the Forefront

2019 Nissan Frontier Exterior RearThe Nissan Frontier features engineering from the wheels up with safety in mind. The truck's body has a reinforced passenger cabin. The tough materials and solid construction methods help to deflect force in the event of a crash. The front and rear of the truck also have crumple zones to absorb some crash energy. Inside, there are multiple airbags to protect you and your passengers. These include dual-stage airbags, side-impact bags, and much more.

The Nissan Intelligent Mobility system is available on numerous configurations. It includes various sensors that can monitor your performance and surroundings at all times, this info can then be used to take appropriate action. Some great package features include Traction Control System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, an Anti-Lock Braking System, and Tire Pressure Monitoring. All new Frontiers are also equipped with a standard rearview camera.
