Midway Nissan's 2014 Pathfinder Review and Research

The phrase "best-in-class" comes easy to the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. With best-in-class fuel economy (based on EPA estimates), interior passenger volume, headroom, legroom and standard towing capacity, there aren't many SUVs that can top the Pathfinder, and certainly none that can make as many "best-in-class" claims. And that's exactly what Nissan set out to do last year when they introduced the completely redesigned fourth-generation Pathfinder. The goal was to build an SUV that so far separated itself from its competitors that it would be a no-brainer for buyers. Not to rest easy after a strong showing, this year's 2014 Nissan Pathfinder returns to Phoenix with a brand new hybrid model, increasing the lineup's appeal with extra savings at the pump.

The 2014 Nissan Pathfinder is available in Phoenix in SUV and hybrid SUV models, and buyers can expect four trim levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. The seven-passenger Pathfinder comes standard with a 3.5-liter V6 that generates 260 horsepower and 240 lb.-ft. of torque. Nissan Pathfinder reviews point out that while it's lost some of its towing/hauling power in favor of better handling and performance, it's still capable of doing some hard work thanks to available all-wheel drive and a revised Xtronic CVT automatic transmission, which also aids in producing better fuel economy. Properly equipped, the 2014 Pathfinder can still tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Last year's complete redesign brought some great changes to the Pathfinder's cabin. It's more roomy, comfortable and made from higher quality materials. Standard and optional features include: leather seats, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a power rear liftgate, touch-screen navigation, cruise control, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 120-volt rear power outlet, a rearview camera, split-fold second- and third-row seats, keyless entry, full power accessories, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system and more.
