Specs at a Glance

Those shopping for a comfortable, spacious compact car should consider the Nissan Sentra. Although it's technically a small car, it's among the largest vehicles in its class. For 2019, this classic is treated to a few new tech features and drivers can choose between five great trim levels. Here's what you need to know about the S, which is the base model, or the SV, which is one step up in the lineup.

Similar Mechanical Features

The S model of the 2019 Sentra comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission and can be upgraded with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which operates like an automatic. The CVT is standard for the SV. You'll get 132 horsepower with the CVT and 124 with the manual transmission. As for fuel economy, the Sentra gets an EPA-estimated 29/37 city/highway miles per gallon. This front-wheel-drive vehicle offers a smooth, composed ride.

Simplistic Design

The S and SV models are very similar in appearance; however, the SV trim has upgraded 16-inch alloy wheels. Otherwise, both cars retain the look that's been characteristic for the Sentra since its 2013 redesign. A fully new Sentra is planned for 2020.

Interior Technology Features

With the Sentra S, you get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Siri Eyes Free, wireless connectivity, USB, and a four-speaker stereo system. If you upgrade to the CVT, you also get automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning.

With the SV, standard features also include dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, two USB ports, push-button start, and satellite radio.
