Spring 2022 Auto Maintenance Tips

Spring is an excellent time to get to your car maintenance for the year. Here are a few tips on how to perform maintenance on your car for the spring cleaning season.

Wiper Blades

It's a good time to ensure that your wiper blades are functioning properly. If you don't, this can cause major problems when trying to wipe your screen free while driving. Many of the places where you purchase new blades will also install them for free.

Suspension and Steering

In many areas, the cycle of freezing and thawing during the winter can cause damage in multiple ways. For example, it could cause potholes that can hurt your vehicle's steering and suspension. Spring is a good time to check out these potential problems yourself, or else take the vehicle to an auto repair service to make sure that everything checks out.

Tire Pressure

The general wear of driving your vehicle can often cause damage to your tires which may have a slow leak in them. This won't make them go flat right away, but it could certainly reduce the air pressure dangerously. It's important to check them out in general anyway, for any problem. Your tires can change how your vehicle drives.

Don't Forget Internal Cleaning

You should clean inside as well as without. There could be a lot of detritus inside that you should clean out if you can to make driving easier. Plus, there could be stains that you should clean up on the upholstery. Vacuuming everything is also often an excellent idea.

Other Maintenance

You can clean and wax the outside of the car too to help prevent damage as well as remove problems that are there. Plus, you may also want to go to an auto shop to bang out any dents that might have occurred over the winter. There's no better time to do this. It's also important to check your air conditioning before things get too hot again.
