With the all-new Titan XD model now at dealerships everywhere, including Midway Nissan, the automaker has finally decided to show off the XD’s smaller sibling: the half-ton 2017 Titan. Sharing the same exterior styling as the mighty Titan XD, the half-ton model looks a lot like its big brother, but features a variety of different traits that separate it from its heavy-duty counterpart.
Seated within the full-size pickup segment, the half-ton Titan will be offered in two drive configurations, 4x2 and 4x4, three cabin configurations – Crew Cab, King Cab and Single cab – and three bed lengths – 5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet. It was also be available in five trims – S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve – which will benefit drivers with different needs.
What truly separates the half-ton Titan from the XD model is its chassis. The standard Titan stretches 228.1 inches long and 79.5 inches wide, while the XD is 242.8 inches long and 79.5 inches wide. Additionally, the half-ton Titan sports a different powertrain than the XD: a 5.6L Endurance V8 gas engine, delivering 390 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. It works alongside a seven-speed automatic transmission and is able to produce exceptional performance at all times.
