The Scoot Quad proves just how fun electric cars can be. The miniature EV is a new concept from Nissan that's been added to Scoot Networks' lineup of light electric vehicles. It joins two other pre-existing Scoot models, including a moped and larger bike with cargo storage.

Right now, the new Quad is being offered in the San Francisco area, where locals can find and reserve a unit for only $8 per half hour or $80 a day. Users have been taking the Quad on trips around town and to run quick errands.

What separates Nissan's Scoot Quad from other Scoot offerings is its four-wheel design, ability to hold two passengers and longer range, which beats the other two models at 40 miles per charge - not surprising considering that the model comes from the developer of the zero-emissions LEAF. Drivers don't need a special license to drive the Scoot Quad either, and there are memberships that include basic liability coverage.

Nissan got involved with the Scoot Networks project in an effort to explore new possibilities when it comes to electric mobility in urban settings and the Quad is a great result of this. We'd love to see Nissan and Scoot Networks bring it to the Phoenix area for testing, but for now you can see it in action below!
