Automotive News recently published news regarding two new variants of the Nissan Rogue that shoppers may see sooner than later. Rogue is one of the most popular models under the Nissan nameplate, so expanding its lineup is a move that sources believe consumers will appreciate.
New Variants in the Pipeline
According to tipsters, Nissan will discontinue the Rogue Select, which is basically the previous first-generation Rogue. Because of its incredible popularity, the first-gen Rogue has been offered alongside the latest second-generation Rogue that was redesigned for the 2014 model year. According to Automotive News, the Rogue Select will eventually be replaced by a version of the European Qashqai crossover, which has a slightly shorter wheelbase than the second-gen U.S. Rogue; sources say that the Qashqai variant will be added as the lineup’s more compact and more efficient option. In addition, informants for Automotive News said the lineup is going to receive a hybrid variant that could appear within the 2016 model year! Nissan hasn’t confirmed, but cross your fingers.
