The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has just announced that the 2015 Nissan Sentra has earned their coveted Top Safety Pick award. These awards are given to cars who go above and beyond in safety and earn their highest ratings. The 2015 Sentra earned the Institute’s top rating of “Good” in all five of the IIHS’ crash tests.

“Nissan is committed to safety and innovation, and Nissan is proud to achieve the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating for the 2015 Sentra,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan North America. “As a compact sedan, Sentra is a critically important vehicle in Nissan’s lineup and with its standard safety features we're bringing a high level of safety and security to a growing consumer segment.”

Standard safety features on the 2015 Sentra include three-point front and rear seatbelts, dual-stage supplemental front airbags with seat belt and occupant classification sensors, front seat-mounted side impact supplemental airbags, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and Nissan’s innovative LATCh system. It also comes with basics such as antilock brakes, an energy absorbing steering column, front and end crumple zones and stability and traction control.
