Nissan is promoting their bestselling electric Leaf in a fun new way this month. Looking to start digging deeper into the European market, Nissan has painted on of their Leafs with a specially made glow in the dark paint.

The automaker worked with paint inventor Hamish Scott, who created a special coating for the Leaf that allows the paint to absorb a lot of light during the day so that it gives off a glow once the sun goes down. The coating is fully organic and fits well with Nissan’s green push for the Leaf.

The automaker said in a press release, “While glowing car paint is already available, as are glow-in-the-dark car wraps, the bespoke, ultraviolet-energized paint created especially for Nissan is unique thanks to its secret formula made up of entirely organic materials. It contains a very rare natural earth product called Strontium Aluminate, which is solid, odorless and chemically and biologically inert.”

To show off this amazing new environmentally-friendly paint coating, Nissan has released a fun video showing the car in action. To see what this fun glow in the dark Leaf looks like, check out the video below!
