Nissan recently announced a significant increase in bumper-to-bumper and powertrain limited warranty coverage on its light commercial vehicles, including the NV Cargo Van, NV Passenger Van and the NV200 Compact Cargo, to take affect retro-actively and covering the 2014 model year. Taking on the competition in a big way, this new class-leading warranty coverage outstrips Ford, Ram and Mercedes-Benz on both time and mileage in overall coverage, while only Ford approaches, but still falls short of Nissan's new powertrain coverage.

Interestingly enough, part of the inspiration for this warranty expansion were stories from real world customers, including the Valley's own Above and Beyond Delivery. A company based in Chandler, Ariz., Above and Beyond employs about 20 Nissan NV 3500 cargo vans, with the first in their fleet accruing more than half a million miles with very little repair work needed. This is not an isolated story; it's a narrative that validates Nissan's confidence in their commercial vehicles. Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing explained: "This warranty reaffirms our confidence in the quality of our vehicles, as some of the NV 2500 and 3500 models have already accrued 550,000-plus miles of real-world use."

Relatively new to the commercial vehicle market, Nissan launched the NV Cargo and NV Passenger vans in 2011 followed by the NV200 in 2013, and since then the automaker has already captured a large chunk of the compact van market. Nissan's willingness to stand behind its products reflects a long-term commitment to producing quality vehicles that will help small and large business owners meet their financial goals.
